This is the Chop and Sew pattern I found here on this board. I couldn't resist it. I had some fat quarters I purchased from Missouri Star Quilt and didn't know what to do with, so I decided to chop and sew them up. The border is a medium green that almost matches some of the greens in the quilt. What should or could I use for the backing? This quilt is 50 by 60. I don't know how I wound up with that size.

I would do a scrappy backing too. If your husband really thinks it is too wild you could do some decorative stiching on the solid blocks if your machine has some fancy stitches. It would tone it down but still be beautiful.

    I like it.

You could have a "calmer" backing if you wanted to.

I am not into decorative stitching. My machine would, but I couldn't. What is a "calmer" backing?
