I used a book called, "The joy of quilting? it had the Lone Star in it. The strips were cut at 2 ins and sewed into sets and then the diamonds were cut at the 45 degree angle, I think. I don't think I would attempt a star with the 1/2 inch triangles lol...that would drive me batty. I would so much rather deal with the set ins and y-seams any day as they really are not that hard, if you take your time and pin.

Unfortunately, he does not cook lol. I have to admit that I have a darling husband of 42 years. When he retired, about 7 years ago, I said, ok it's your turn, I have done it long enough lol....and he agreed. I do all the cooking and wash the floors and do the bathrooms but that is nothing compared to all he does.....

I always say, feed a man good food and he will do anything for you lol.

Let me tell you what pattern I used for this Dahlia. It is definitely the best pattern you will every find, plus great instruction. I got it from Dover publications. I don't think they have it anymore but Amazon does.

Oh goodness, I just checked the price of that book, you can get it for 0.1 plus shipping, so that would be 4.00 for a great pattern.

Wow, I have just joined this forum and am overwhelmed by the skill and talent shown in these pictures. They are so beautiful. I feel so inadequate now. Thank you for showing these.
