Default My Kool Kat Quilt..............finished finally

Well started this one last year at a quilt retreat about this time. The gal said she didn't care what I did as long as its green. Well I think I hit it on the head with this one. Pulled 80 different green fabrics out of my stash plus another one for the border. Found a beige with a greenish gold fleck in it for the background. I goofed up when I came to the sashings as it should have been small white, small black, large white, small black and finally large green border. OOPS!!!!! Oh well. I went into EQ7 as that's what I had at the time to make up a paper pieced snail trail block as I wanted it to be perfect or near perfect. I also made the kitty body in EQ7 to fit the snail trail block. I did find a mistake while I was quilting it though. Had turned the snail trail block incorrectly so when I came to it to quilt it that's when I found it. DRAT IT ALL!!!! Do you know how hard it is to rip out one block in the middle of a quilt on the frame, turn it and then hand sew it back together and its been quilted all around that particular block. Not easy mind you but I perserved. Anyway, then I was trying to get it all quilted to take to the September quilt retreat and was down to the last 6hrs and didn't get it done. It sat on the frame till February before I went back to it to finish it up. Just yesterday I finished the binding using a decorative stitch as I didn't want to have to do it by hand. Just so glad its done and I know the couple who gets it will too............even with the flaws................ The 1st photo is the fabrics I pulled from my stash. The scraps from this quilt is now being using in another quilt going to the quilt retreat to be worked on....a triple irish chain. You'll see I stitched a continuous line back and forth on the beige background fabric.

That quilt is absolutely gorgeous as well as your beautiful quilting. Someone is going to be "over the moon" to receive this one.

Oh my, it is gorgeous. You have a wonderful stash to pull from. The variation in the greens gives your quilt lots of visual interest. And, your quilting is a masterpiece. Truly a wonderful gift.

Oh, and, I love your "wrong" borders. lol I think it's an unexpected twist. I bet it will start a new trend.

The quilt is so cute and great quilting! What a pain to remove and sew in a block!

Green is my favorite color and cats are one of my most favorite things so your quilt is a real winner in my book!
