My Last finished quilt top

That's a beautiful quilt. Wonderful colors that make it magical. You are right to practice on smaller items. You could make doll quilts, or small lap quilts for children, easy totebags have outer quilted fabric, dresser top runners, etc. All those I have used to practice quilting. When you prepare to quilt you can have card tables around to help hold the weight of the quilt sandwich, and also makes it more maneuverable. Wonder if you have your machine in a cabinet or on a table top.
I also have many quilt tops waiting to be quilted. It's always if there's urgency and a time table that helps me get them done. Ha Ha Sort of like having company helps get the house cleaned and organized ! !
Great job on this colorful quilt.

I can see why you don't want to attempt the quilting - looks like the top was a lot of work!
Close your eyes and pick one of the other 6 to start practicing your quilting - the initial 'shock' should soon wear once you get going.

I love this quilt! I have the pattern for it, and it's been on my list for quite awhile! Sure hope I get around to it some day, because yours is beautiful! I think you could get away with STID on this one. Sometimes I hand quilt a design in the middle of large blocks, the STID the rest of it. No quilt police have come knocking on my door yet!
