my latest donation quilt finished 2-26-11

Thanks for posting these great ideas. Because there isn't a Heart Walk in our area this year, one of our Senior 4-H students decided to organize one. He's taking donations for door prizes. I have top racked and ready to quilt for the occasion, but the idea of making a pamper basket with the bath saltz, soaps, body lotions and candles I've made, and my girl friends' home grown luffa is good. I had thought about a limited number of lessons, but because these are "select one" door prizes, and the target group is actually the 5th graders in our county, (and their parents) I wasn't sure if a kit would be attractive as a prize.

I think it would be AWESOME if the LQS's would have a monthly drawing for a free quilt class, If they charged a 1.00 for a ticket I bet they would do well and make lots of money off it...and the person winning would also be very happy and most likely buy the fabric there...win, win for both

So many quilters on the QB do great things within their communities and beyond. We should have outstanding quilters' awards to recognize more individuals who speak up about their works with groups or organizations. It just amazes me (don't surprise me though) how much quilters give. I would like to THANK all who go above and beyond...and give you each an award of appreciation!
