If you raffle it or auction it off, one child and his/her family gets to enjoy it. If you keep it and display it every year, MANY kids get to see and enjoy it. It will make happy memories for all of them.

I always ask myself, "what would I do with it?" and if the answer is put it away because I really don't have a use, or a place for it, then I know I need to find it a home. To put that beautiful quilt away would be a shame, it deserves a bed and a cuddle. If the library is having an upcoming event to raise money, I'd donate it to them as an auction item. I know our library is really hurting for funds to keep the children's library going and they would really appreciate the donation.

You are so right about the state of school (and public) libraries in CA. I haven't had a budget to buy books in ages - aside from PTA - thank God for them!

Since you have not promised it, I think that is a good solution. I do think it would make a really good raffle quilt, however.

I luv it, having 9 grandchildren I am always looking for inspiration. That is awesome!!! I have made quilts for my granchildren's school and they get raffled for the extras that are needed. One of my quilts went for over $600, still amazed!

Originally I thought I would have a raffle and give it away at the end of the school year, or maybe put it in the silent auction at open house. The money would go to buy books for the library. Now that it is finished, I am having second thoughts.
    What would you do?
If you enjoyed making it, make another one, and then raffle one of them. The raffle will bring in the most money.
We are a small town. We got 3k recently for a raffled quilt.
