My Latest two projects

Sorry, I know I have been busy. I have a member of my credit union (I'm head teller) who is going thru a hard time.
To sum up...In the summer I made a Quilt Pink to auction for the Susan G Komen foundation. This member bought several tickets really wanting to win the quilt. She didn't. She is a breast cancer survivor so felt compelled. During that time she found she had cancer for the second time. Lungs this time. Found during a routine body scan for her remission. Went thru her chemo and what not and back to work in the fall. Was working about 3 or 4 weeks when she found out that she had cancer yet again. After having just come off chemo she was in shock. This time is terminal. In the chest wall, possibly esophagus, etc. She found out around Thanksgiving.
I started a quilt for her first week of Dec and gave it to her the 26th. It was my best yet. Only my 2nd quilt bigger than a wall hanging. This one is disappearing 9 patch. About 54 by 60. My first time sending it to a long arm quilter too. What a difference that made.
She did start treatments this week at Duke I think. Hopefully some miracle will happen and she won't be terminal. She is a really sweet woman. Those of you who pray please think of Bernice while she is away.
Also, I made a small wall hanging by paper piecing that is a Christmas gift for my wine buff Brother in law.
This one I got the pattern off of here. Think Fancy Foot posted the one I got the pattern from during the summer. I really liked her colors better than mine though!! Thanks, and have a great new year.
