This is the second year it's been in Long Beach, and it is HUGE! Last year I wore myself out trying to do it all in one day. This year I took one day to see the vendors and another day to see the quilts. It would be well worth at trip down here to attend--you won't be sorry. I think it's always in July. And you could meet us for lunch! Eventually we'll be able to open a Quilting Board West chapter!

Time for the "machine" to be known as ???? Babies are named usually before leaving the hospital, now you've already brought her home, what did you decide on? :P BTW, very nice looking model!

The patterns are stunning. Will look forward to pics when you get to sew the one with the fabrics you picked up.

As it all ended up, I didn't get to make like I was planning to Long Beach. I'm so bummed and going thru quilt show withdrawls. I told DH we ARE going to the one in Ontario in January. Anyone have info on that one since I've never been?

Wow those are quilts to drool over.

And, LUCKY you to get the new machine! That scrappy star is exactly what I think of when I imagine a quilt.

Looks like you enjoyed yourself and you came home happy!!!!

Great finds, but your new baby takes the cake. She is a beauty.

:D :D :D ooooo...your 2nd pic is a quilt from my LQS, the Calico Horse! I go to Curves 4 days a week and it is 3 doors down. I have to go to Curves before the LQS opens so I can stay away. It is a fabulous shop! I went in to see the quilts from the show yesterday. Aren't they grand?

The Road to California quilt show will be Jan 14-17th. I have been the last 5 years and will most likely be there again on Friday and Saturday during the show. It is a great show, lots of beautiful quilts, classes, vendors. Hope you can make it. If you do go, and if anyone else is planning to go, we should try and meet for lunch or something.

I enjoyed getting together for lunch with you and Bernise. I hope that at another show we can meet again.
You machine is beautiful. Had you had much opportunity to play with it yet?

That star pattern is on the cover of the June 2009 American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. I was just looking through it again today. I have done a couple Carrie Nation quilts and I may just have to do this one too. It is beautiful.

Congrats on the new machine! Enjoy it! I just bought the same Bonnie Blue pattern. I like how they changed the edges to half square triangles instead of solids like in the pattern picture, I also like the added borders. Can't wait to see yours when it's done!!
