    Great idea for the floor. I've been thinking of doing something like this in my basement/studio.

    The materials are relatively inexpensive. We designed our kitchen floor out of VCT (that stuff) with two colors and a design reminiscent of the era of the house (1950's). The labor was twice as much as the tile, but it was still really affordable.
