Very unusual fabrics! And they will show well with the pattern you have chosen. Be sure to repost the finished Finnish Quilt....Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I've adored Marimekko prints since "back in the day" when we first learned about them in this country. Yours are just great!! The quilt will be terrific.

Ditto from me too. I use a light body starching that I buy at Walmart, comes in a turquoise color can. You might need to you a different size needle.

ManiacQuilter2, what do you mean about a different size needle? This is where I am really ignorant. I am self-taught and just find inspirations and "go for it". So I tend to sit down at the sewing machine and start sewing. I had never sewed a stitch in my life until one year ago at age 65. I wanted to follow my mother's quilting legacy and make quilts for all the grandkids, so I bought a good sewing machine and watched tutorials until I was blue in the face. lol

But I really appreciate comments about needles and stitches, etc. If I need to change something, I want to do it right away!

I just ordered the two fabrics on the right. I think it will balance out the colors better and there were two or three fabric choices I may not use.

All of the fabric has shipped from Finland and I've saved all of the mailing envelopes. Also, each fabric has a name. For instance, the green houses piece is named Vanhakaupunki which means Old Town. I want to find a way to incorporate it in the quilt gift, so if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them.

I love Spoonflower, so I could design a PDF of all of the quilt pics and names with translation and put it in the signature or something like that. Even in the quilt backing.

Won't it be fun (and stressful) to pick out just the right spot to cut the quilt square!!!

Your ideas would be greatly appreciated!
