Beautiful work -- both the pretty daughter and the pretty quilt. I love those "Sues." I don't know that I've ever seen one with the little arms and legs.

What a wonderful way to show how much she's loved. She will cherish that all the days of her life. You've done a beautiful job.

It is not Sunbonnet Sue. The pattern is Garden Girl, and she is wearing her big hat and carrying a watering can.
I used a blanket stitch to appliqué it and hand embroidered her legs and arms.
    I appreciate all the comments.

Love the quilt. I just finished a year in the life of Sunbonnet Sue. They were wall hangings, one for each month of the year. It was so much fun to change the fabrics and all the trims. I might need to make another set for myself.

That is just beautiful!!! I really admire your work. I had a wonderful antique quilt made in the 1930's by a lady in Tennessee. It is sooo similar. Due to financial difficulties I recently sold the quilt to a lady in Australia. This is a picture of mine.

Please let me know if you had a pattern. I would love to try to reproduce one. I just love the work you have done on the one for your daughter. It is a real treasure.

A picture speaks a thousand words. She loves it and what a wonderful momento of her growing up years. Mom, you did fantastic, and I agree, it should have gotten more than an honorable mention.
