I, too, started saving two 5" squares of everything I sewed for my daughter through the years ALSO BEFORE I ever thought of quilting!!! You are ahead of me....I haven't put them together yet, but plan to do one from one of the Nickel quilt books using a tone-on-tone Teddy Bear print for sashing (she collects TB's) and an allover Teddy Bear print for the backing. Hopefully, in the next four years before she turns 50, I'll get it together. Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt.

What a great quilt, it's evident she loves it. Congratulations on the Honorable Mention, it was justly deserved. When my daughter was in her Sr. year of high school, and had chicken pox (don't know why she didn't get it when her older brother did), boredom set it, so she wanted me to help her make a quilt for her dorm room at college. Her words were "but I don't want to make the kind of quilts you make, I want one with just squares and only one square of each fabric". She dug through my stash, using pieces of clothing I made for her and her dolls, etc., etc., then we picked out the border together. I still don't think she has discovered that she does have 2 squares of one fabric, but I'm not going to tell her, but then I only discovered that fact when I was quilting the quilt. So far that is her one and only quilt, maybe someday.
