    Louise,

My wife wants me to make your style of quilting frame, Fan Design, and I think I can do it but I don't know the exact dimensions. Can you tell me what they are please. Thank you. Jim

It has been some time since I last wrote in this post but to all of those who were interested in this type of frame, I still enjoy it very much and still use it all the time, since I handquilt a lot. Here is a picture of my latest work - I am at 2 rows of flowers from the end

I would love to see a video of this in use if you can post one. It looks absolutely fascinating.

Default My new fan design quilting frame

[QUOTE=Louise C;159229]As promised in another thread, here are some pictures of my new "fan design" quilting frame. I have to make the sleeves for the rails.

For the picture, I put my bedcover on it to show you how this works

Side view of one of the pannels - there are feet that inserts at the bottom making a cross, to stabilize the whole frame

do you sell these or the instructions to make these

I love the way your frame works. Is it for hand quilting?

I have a Gracie two and it works with the wheels on the side. My DH refurbished a 1914 Singer 66 machine and I use it all the time. May not be fancy but I like it and we have $450 invested in it. It has paid for itself many times in the last two years.

It would be similiar to Mrs. Grace, the big floor frame I am stitching the Sunbonnet on, except Mrs. Grace has spring loaded rails w/"wheels" to roll forward.

    There are 4 rails, right?
1.The very back rail (left side) is for the batting.
2.The 2nd rail up from the back (barely visible in the top px) is for the top.
3.The 3rd railing (almost middle) is for the backing.
4.The last rail, bottom front) is for all of them to come together.
    Is this correct?

So when you roll the quilt to move to the next area, you will need to unroll a bit off each rail & let hang. Then get to the front rail & roll forward.
Is this anywhere correct because I am guessing by just looking?

    This is an interesting design!

Hey do you have dimensions or sale the plans?? My dad is a wood worker and is building it m, I’m so excited! I don’t have a lot of room for the traditional frame or lots of money for the fancy ones.

I have the grace frame which is currently on sale for half what I paid but I like that this one you have can be stored so easily. The grace has four rails and is why I bought it. I love it but if I had seen this one my son could have made me one. Thanks for sharing.
