Funny you should mention that. I have one other old cabinet, nowhere near as fancy as those two. But it was made by my grandmother's brother for her, and it holds her wedding china, and my mother's wedding dinner set, and a few other treasures. I keep eyeing it up but just can't bring myself to pack the china away, it's too special.

Here in Iowa at least even with the glass gone and replaced(such a shame) that would bring about $500-$700.

What is the history of the other cabinet? Just curious and very envious!!
No idea about the other one, sorry. We picked it up in a second hand shop for around $80. The door was off and stacked on top, and several pieces of glass were missing. Hubby put the door back on (original hinges) and replaced the missing bits of glass, and voila! It's traditional leadlight, and old glass, but we're not sure of it's age.

I like having my fabrics "away" so they don't get dusty, but it's SO nice to be able to see them! Behind glass is just perfect.

Wow, what a find. And so wonderful to fill with your wonderful fabric finds. Showcases them nicely.

I'm slowly getting a handle on the time thing.... it's a bummer, when I sit down at the computer in the evening for a wee browse before bed, it's like 4am for most of you and this place is vewy quiet!
