Thank you so much. I was at a thrift shop today and there was some kind of gizmo for a singer sewing machine in a red box..
I need to go back there and take a pic.. I have no clue what it is. Usually I carry my camera but didn't have it today.. Will post it when I get back there.... it was $10

    Thank you Amma

It sits in my living room as I try to decide what to do.. restore or let the ole girl be as she is unless I decide to use her for sewing. I still have need to take the numbers and see how old she is. Good thing to do right now ..

Well I have the numbers now for the old girl...Singer.. Now I have to find out where I find out the info... Hmm

14601109 is the number on the plate...

and then there are alot of patent numbers...
    1880, 1885, 1888 and 1890........

This should be fun.. will do a search and see where it goes!

Thank you LaceLady.... They were very helpful in there!

I found out that she is an 1897 model. Amazing to me. I didn't think she was that old. Now to get info on how to clean her up and see what else I should do. I already looked for a manual but didn't have them on the sites I looked at. Wow, to think a machine that is 114 years old might work is amazing to me. Thank you again, Donna

Just a note on old Singer machines, you can go to www.singerco.com to look up the serial number and date your machine. I used to go to a site all the time that this one man kept and he had loads of information on old Singers. My computer crashed and I lost the bookmark but I'll bet if you googled it you could find it.
