I admired you previous bow tucks, so got the pattern and made a few, but not happy with the inside bottom, if you just slip cardboard or something in a sleeve and lay it in the bottom, stuff would always be under it, do you sew it down someway to solve this? or just leave out the bottom sleeve?

About that bottom, I don't always do this...Before sewing the lining seams I stitch along the bottom a 1/4 of an inch on both pieces. Then sew the two pieces together. Then after turning it right side out you have stitched lines on either side of the lining to help determine just how big that 1/4 inch really is. I think it helps.

Another idea - which I haven't tried yet would be to insert the cardboard bottom inside the layers before hemming that opening shut. The only problem would be that it wouldn't be washable, and the bottom could sift.

instead of cardboard a friend said she used plastic canvas(with the holes in it) to put in her sleeve, would be washable then, but just slipping it in, it would wander around and not stay "on the bottom" maybe will try to hand sew the "sleeve" to the bottom, but to make it washable would have to use a plastic instead of cardboard. (sigh) more hand work, more time spent? you are really creative, and making some neat purses! last one I made I used Dr. Seuss fabric--how cute is that? maybe the mega for a diaper bag? as you can see in my Avatar, I love Dr. Seuss- couldn't find fabric at the time so made my own.
