What a lucky find. I have an old Singer treadle that has a "shuttle."

    Thanks everyone!!!

Countrycottage... You have an easy way to thread the shuttle? I should never have taken it out.. lol I can get the shuttle back in the machine fine.. But I can not get how to get the shuttle threaded like it shows online... Any helpful tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Carol

She is beautiful. I know the old treadle machines my mom taught us on had shuttles. There is a whole group of people into the very old machines. Will try to find the link for you, have it written down somewhere.....

Thanks so much GreatStarter, I will be looking forward to the link!!

I tried to post on Lostn's vintage area but I can't figure that out tonight either. Think I will give up for now and maybe things will be easier to figure out in the morning...

I have 2 of the treadle version of this machine, once you get her going you will love her! I actually learned to sew on the treadle version of this machine.

This you tube video shows how to wind her bobbins and load the shuttle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4PhAT--SKM

If you have any trouble with her just post! I've made good friends with this machine :) so if you get stuck I've probably already made the mistake that's hanging you up at least 10 times :D

I also have a .pdf copy of the manual I can e-mail you if you need it!

    $5 ????? - Wow! Nice looking machine.
I bought a belt for my 66 treadle at local Singer dealer. You might try on line. The shuttle bobbins are available on ebay - not terribly expensive.
    Have fun.
