My new wip, how would you quilt this??

I keep coming back and looking at this quilt and try to find the right words to describe it - they've all been said. It's beautiful! I agree with Andi - someone buying this at a fund raiser won't care about the level of quilting you put into it. If you can, please post pics of the final project and congrats to you and good luck on the fund raising!

I am trying to work down my civil war and thimbleberry scraps.
I am still adding borders, but couldn't wait to post :-)
this is from the threadhead quilt along, I just found this , someone here on the board posted a link to the blog.

I have also worked up the blocks for the other quiltalong stay tuned........
just noticed the colors are washed out in the pic, the setting blocks are more tan...

Your quilt top is absolutely beautiful! You did a wonderful job!
I have some ideas for quilting it on this post -
http://joanne-threadhead.blogspot.ca...-finished.html
I started by quilting through the squares in the alternating blocks, with a walking foot, making large X's across the quilt. That stabilized the whole thing, and made the rest so much easier to quilt. It was the first really big quilt (105" square) that I free motion quilted on my DSM. Good luck with yours!

I have always wanted to make a sampler quilt, but never liked the busyness of it. then I saw your design with the setting blocks, and I just had to go for it!!
thank you so much for making the pattern available. I just now looked at the link you provided . I have not noticed that you posted pics of your quilting close up. it looks great, and the fact that you did this with a DSM gives me hope

"Just about copying your quilt" - I am flattered. I look forward to seeing your other quilt too.
I like sampler quilts because I get bored of making the same blocks over and over.
I really hope that you quilt it yourself, and step out of your comfort zone, that is the only way to get better. You might be pleasantly surprised with what you accomplish! The second QA quilt has lots more ideas for quilting, plus it is smaller - you might want to quilt that one first. Good luck!
