That is a beautiful story. I hope you have children you can hand this down to. I have passed out all my grand mothers quilts to my children. The hand work on your quilt is so beautiful and the design too. You did a beautiful job.

Thank you all so much for the kind words! Yes my aunt is still living and is 76 years old. I will probably hand quilt this one because I like to keep the quilting in time with the fabrics. I am sorry the pictures are not better so you could really see it as it is. I think this is will be one of my favorite quilts when it is finished. I didn't have much of a plan when I started it. The blocks and design just came as I was sewing and I am happy with how it turned out. The border came because I still had more petals to use and I did not have enough green fabric for the borders and the binding so I added the white and the vine and leaves. It was fun to make and was very simple because the embroidery and the leaves were already made for me. I will send my aunt pictures of it. She told me to use the blocks how ever I wanted becasue she didn't remember making them. She said "I was a kid.... more interested in the sock hop Friday night than anything else." I'm sure seh would like to see pictures anyway. 30's prints are one of my favorite fabric groups and anytime I can use them, I do. I also love batiks. Yes, I have kids who appreciate quilts. My oldest DD and her DD aer quilters too.
