It is really cute with the applique owl! I agree about the baby quilts. I make small ones and embroider the date etc. because I know they will never be used.

The pattern looks like a Lover's Knot by Eleanor Burns. Very nice quilt! You are smart to be able to make one of these by looking at one in a book!!
