    I wish my mom hadn't bowed to Daddy's pressure to get that "old thing out of my shop." She finally did. I wish I had Great Grandma's treadle. Mama can't remember what kind it was. :(

    I was only about 17 when my Mom "got rid" of her "White" treadle machine that I learned to sew with. What does a teen want with that old thing? Shoot me now! :-(

    she's so pretty! I have my grandmother's also. She & my grandfather were married in 1907. One time she explained to me, "to start a home in those days you needed three pieces of furniture: a bed, a kitchen table, and a sewing machine."

    I would love to have had my grandmothers machine too. She had an old treadle on one of those old ironing machines that did sheets and stuff like that. I remember thinking how big it was.
