Yep - you should press (remember up and down motion - not gliding back and forth) and also pay attention to which direction your sashing seams need to be pressed. I try and iron mine open when possible, as I find it easier to join the blocks that way.

What ya think?? Any tips greatly accepted . Should I press each strip first before attaching to make the block?

So far I can't tell your new at this, keep up the great work, and Iron, iron, iron, you will love the results you get, and it makes it easier to match seams if you do iron.
I can't wait to see this one finished, It looks to me that you are close to being a pro already.
GOD bless.

Love, love the colors and love the pattern. As for the pressing -- DO NOT run your iron over the seams or any of the fabric!!!! Simply set the iron down, lift and set in another spot. Regular ironing will distort your blocks.
I'm a firm believer in pressing (not ironing) each & every seam; may take longer but your finished product will be much nicer. I know because I've screwed up loads of fabric by ironing -- learned the hard way!
