Been following your progress as I'm getting ready to make my 1st bargello too. I have the same pattern but needed one for a queen size so put this one aside but I keep coming back to it. Love your purple theme too. I'm doing one in dark browns to light gold going out from an accent fabric of bubbles ( light to dark, bubble fabric, dark to light) which has been giving me a headache trying to figure out how to make the movement work. Just saw a pic of a bargello on a website where they added a sashing around the body of the quilt, then took strips of the same fabrics used 6-8" long and added that around the quilt body. Great way to use up the strips as I goofed when I estimated how much fabric I needed at the start of this project.
Can't wait to see your quilt when finished.

Dina, it is beautiful. For those of you who want to make a Bargello but are afraid-- jump in. I made this same pattern with Dina and Maniacs' help. I was terrified, but it was pretty easy. I did a lot of research and bought a book on making them, which helped me a lot. I made it for my son. But you may remember my post about his telling me he wanted a San Diego Chargers quilt. So the Bargello just needs to have binding put on- the Chargers top is almost done. We are keeping the Bargello.
