My quilt tribute to my husband
I saw the beautiful quilt posted earlier by ChrisB-A Soldier story quilt for our son. It made me want to share the quilt I made in 2003 for my husband. It was to commemorate his 20 years in the Air Force. I used the fronts of his fatigue shirts (they used to wear Olive Drab in those days), with the patches that he wore left on, and used the pants to make extra blocks with patches he had collected over the years. I also used t-shirts, etc. to fill in. Starting at the upper left corner, it is a timeline of his career. He really loved it. It will be passed on to one of our grandsons.

Oh WOW....did he fly on the Blackbird???? I got to see/tour it once after it was declassified - it flew into RAF Alconbury, UK where we were stationed. Been trying to see if i recognize any of the patches...and a couple seem familiary...but it's been a long time. That's a great quilt !! .... Please thank him for his service!!

My heartfelt sympathy for your loss....I did not realize from your post that he had passed. It is indeed a small world - that we were both at Alconbury. Wishing you all the very best !!!
