My quilting room
#1
Just wanted to show off my quilting room so I attached a picture of it. You can close the cabinet up and it is 99x24. It is a Kangaroo Aussie.
It is not completed yet, I still need to build storage shelves and start a stash. However, I start beginners class today at one of the local quilt shops. We are lucky in my area to have probably 10 or more shops dedicated to quilting.
We currently having a major winter storm here with sleet, freezing rain and expecting to get mega snow later on this evening. I hope they don't cancel my class, LOL.
Blessings...

It is beautiful, I would love to see it in about 6 months though. I have been quilting for around a year now and my stash has grown.
As a beginner, now is the time to keep organized before things get ahead of you.
There are 3 special things I was told and try to do, although I don't always achieve them.
First is to take a picture and log it into a journal of all of your projects with the information concerning it. For ex: Name of Quilt, pattern, date started/finished. Things I learned while doing this, etc. Who I gave it to and why!
Second, once complete organize all your left over scraps, etc., don't let them build up.
Third, If you are making a quilt, try and make a pillowcase out of the same fabric. This will allow you to store the quilt while not in use and be able to know exactly which one it is. It also keeps it out of the dust, plastic and paper bags.
Just a couple of things I've learned in the last year, that helped me!
Happy Quilting!

I am so blessed. This is all due to my wife. I decided I wanted to learn to quilt as I am retired and can dedicate lots of time to it.
Quilting is a very challenging hobby that requires skill, patience and love for the art. I so admire all my fellow board members you guys make beautiful works of art.
Betty decided to support this vision and she far exceeds. It is really hard to come up with words to articulate how I feel about her. To say simply I love her seems inadequate. I thank God everyday for sending her into my life and giving me the wisdom to recognize it.
