Do you use back stitch or stem stitch for this? And how many threads? I am getting ready to start an embroidery of Mother Goose blocks. But I like your Red Work.

Mimi, did you transfer the design onto muslin? I looked up Nana's Needlework, and they look really small on the sight. I have never done redwork before but used to do a lot of embroidery.

Duh!!! Now I get it....these are paper patterns right? And then you transfer them onto fabric, and you enlarged yours? It is really heck getting old, took me awhile to figure this one out. And then I looked at the address, and they are only about an hour from me. Go figure!! LOL

The patterns are folded and the actual size of my girls. I used a light box to trace the patterns. No enlarging was necessary. Nana's patterns are the best. I'm having so much fun with these. The most stitches are stem stitch but there is a lot of French knots and satin stitch as well. I'm getting a ton of practice, lol.
