Your scrappy quilts are so pretty. Love them! Scrappy is one of my favorite quilts to make as well as to look at. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

The thing I like the most about scrappy quilts is that I'm using what others have thrown away. It's gives me a since of freedom because if is doesn't work I can put it in the dog bed bag. Like when you sew something and when you try to press, it won't lay flat and then you realize that you've sewn a tent like structure trying to make your scraps fit. I've done that with my crumbs-somehow I made a cone shape. I could have made a second one and added tassles and had a.set of ..what are they called? exotic dancers wear them on their top halves?

I want someone to come to my house and tell me "these fabrics go together and will make a nice quilt" I do good matching 2-3 colors then find I don't have enough of one of the colors to finish. I get into a brain freeze where I literally get anxious when choosing fabrics. I actually went to Joann's one day with $50 burning a hole in my pocket when quilting fabric was a great sale and I had to leave without buying anything because I it gave me a headache trying to choose fabric for a planned quilt.

With scrappies, it doesn't matter. Eventually it will work and then I just need to find 1 fabric of ~1-2 yards for sashings and borders to make a quilt The main thing is to make sure you sew securely, the fabrics don't bleed and it lays flat for quilting. As my group's LA'rs say "there are things you can't quilt out"

It is amazing what pieces of fabric can become with the right touch etc. Scrap quilts look warm and appealing to me. Well done.

Every time I see such beautiful scrappy quilts I wonder how anyone can ask if they should keep scraps.
