Glad you trusted your own judgment! Teachers should be more impartial. Not a good teacher in my estimation.
After all it is NOT about her (or his) taste, but your own.

Gorgeous quilt. The teacher should know....it's your quilt, you can use any color(s) you want.

I think the colors are lovely, as is the quilt. I am glad that you quit letting the teacher's comments hold you back. Colors are strictly a matter of personal taste and you are entitled to express your individuality.

Your colors are beautiful, and you did such a good job. I have been crushed by someone's words before, and it took me time to quit letting it get to me. Please keep quilting, you were meant to.

The quilt was YOURS to choose to do with, what you wanted. That quilt teacher had no business telling you anything negative about your choice of colors. Too bad it took you so long to get back to it. It's beautiful!!

I had a similar experience with a LQS OWNER. I was so excited with my hand stitched first quilt. It wasa crazy quiLT. I Knew nothing. Had never even heard of a quarter inch seam. She was new in town but not new to quilting or teaching. Her comment about what she considered sloppy foundation piecing did not stop me from quilting but it did stop me from sharing WIPs and when a new store opened a few weeks later shegot more of my business and still does as the first one went out of business in the second year. I have decent self esteem and it hurt my feelings and she should have kept her thoughts to herself or at least have been nice. I teach very differently myself.

Two thumbs down to the teacher. How dare her discourage you. Your color choices are your own and I like them also. You did a beautiful job.
