for my sister's birthday
I made a bow tuck beach bag for my aunt last year (http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t188162.html) and when my sister saw it, the first thing she said was, "I want one!!" I had intended to make it for Christmas, but instead I spent December with my dad while he recovered from a coronary bypass. I got lots of English paper pieced ornaments done, but no actual sewing. Her birthday was last week, but it's a time-honored tradition in our family to celebrate as long as you can, so it's not really 'late', as such.
Her favorite colors are orange and teal, so I'm hoping she'll like this. I didn't have time to go all out like I did for my aunt's, but she's getting the bow tuck, the water bottle carrier, a book mark for her beach books, and the all-important seashell collecting bag. I do still have fabric left, so I will make more of the little things as I find time.

So cute! Your sister will LOVE them all. A sea-shell collecting bag is a good idea. When I take the "grands" to the beach, I always come home with their treasure. I've got a big box full of them...
