A son can touch your heart like no one else. I am glad you gave it to him I know from your story he will treasure it always. Some times a gift of time spent with your child no matter how old they are is a very precious gift. God Bless.

Teared me up that's for sure!! How awesome it is that our kids let us know how much they love and appreciate us?
My very first quilt, that was a quilt, not a first try without batting, but my very FIRST actual quilt was one requested by my daughter. She asked me to make a quilt for her and she picked out the colors. It took me a year to make and other than the blocks themselves is pretty awful. The quilting is very bad. But she loves it! My husband thought I was crazy giving her my first ever quilt, until I explained that having my children want something that I created and made myself, all me, was the greatest feeling ever! I just love that my kids want something that I made!

Gorgeous quilt, special son! Hope you don't mind if I use your quilt as an inspiration for one of mine. Absolutely love scrappy patchwork and applique.
