my son's quilt
#15
thanks for all the wonderful compliments ladies!! It sure does make a girl feel good about her sewing! I have made a couple of quilts prior to this one, but they were all basic squares minus the yellow brick road in my avitar (but I had a lot of help with that one, LOL) anyway I love doing it so I will keep on going and hopefully get more fancy. I actually bought a stippler foot for my machine so wish me luck on that one!

Great job on your first quilt....feels great to get the first one done doesn't it....I know that cause I was there myself a few months back......and there is nothing wrong with cute vs fancy........your son obviously loves it .....and that's what it's all about!!

I have hand quilted one quilt in my life.
A wedding quilt for our oldest son, and I decided to just do a straight line.
After doing a straight line through the queen sized quilt, I understood why people starting doing curves and different things, and I think that is when I decided to learn machine quilting.
You will see ....
you will start simple, then you will start branching out, then you will start experimenting ... it is a process <g> we all go through it to one degree or another, and it is a necessary part of becoming proficient in anything.
