She is definitely going to enjoy it during her senior year because she will have a little piece of home with her. You did a great job !! Great idea for the backing !!

Great job. Would love to see a photo of the delighted look on your DD's face when she unwraps it. Makes me smile thinking about it.

Hi, I'm from Secaucus, NJ Was wondering if you would mind telling me if you backed your t-shirts with an interfacing and if you did, would you mind telling me what you used. My grand-daughter wants me to help her make one this summer.

Janet, I did use interfacing. I used the featherweight tricot iron on interfacing. It is very lightweight. It was more expensive that some of the interfacings... around $4/yd. In the class they said you really could use any type of iron on interfacing. If you don't use interfacing the fabric curls when you cut it. It would be tough to work on tshirts without it! It was really fun to make! Everyone in the class came in with a very different t shirt quilt! I learned alot just by seeing what everyone did in the class!

I realized that I never posted a picture of the t shirt quilt that I made for my daughter after it was quilted! I had it quilted by our own, Feline Fanatic! She did a fabulous job with a soccer ball motif. My daughter loved it, as did all of her teammates. Right now I am working on another one for one her college teammates that just lost her dad to cancer. I am making it from all of his T shirts, at her request. I am happy to be able to do something special for her. Hopefully it will be finished next week and on its way to Feline fanatic to let her work her magic!
