ok necessity is the mother of invention right? We've been planning on putting a curtain up there anyway that could double as a design wall. Well I'm to a point that I NEED to see these blocks as I make them to make sure they are turning right. I just can't make up a bunch of them and make sure they're right without seeing it. So today I got desperate. I took a fleece blanket (hoping the blocks would stick...they won't) and pinned it up. I'm having to pin blocks on but I can SEE what I'm creating! I hope to finish this one next week and start on the next one....then will come the fun part. Quilting them! It may not be pretty but it will come down easily if I need and it works!

Sometimes you just have to do whatever works, and that does. Congratulations on creative thinking. One other thought is if you have a flannel sheet, they might stick to that.

Hey....whatever works, right? I did the same kinda thing once with a flannel sheet. I just HAD to see what I was doing, so I can relate!

A flannel sheet works until you get too many sewn together and it starts to get too heavy.
Great idea to have a curtain double as your design wall.

We do what we gotta do. I don't have a design wall, but when working on smaller projects, I sometimes put a white fitted twin size flannel sheet over the door to the sewing room and use the elastic sheet clips on the other side to hold it tight. Worked great for what I needed at the time.

dh found me a curtain rod! well its not technically a curtain rod.....he came in last night looked at my "design" wall and turned around and walked out to the storage building. he came back in with a pvc pipe and some bracket things. So today he will put that up he said. I in the meantime have to go dig a flannel sheet out of storage. Somewhere I have a set of dark green ones that are really getting too worn to use on the bed so I will use that one.
