my thrift store find....

It is amazing what some people find they don't want!
I had a friend whose mother worked in a nursing home and she collected about four quilts from families that did not want them after the loved one had passed away. They told her if she did not want them they would be 'thrown' to goodwill. How sad!
I had an idea about the mending you have to do. What I thought would be to stitch it closed and then maybe applique something over it. Depending I guess on where it is. But you could applique in a couple spots so it looks intentional.
Just me two cents worth!

Great for you!! My heart would be broken to know that a quilt I made went to the Salvation Army or Goodwill, but if someone who loves and appreciates it picks it up for a decent price...then it's all good. I love shopping at my local Goodwill stores, there are 3 here that are close enough for me to visit every week...I DON'T visit them every week...but I'd like too!! lol
