It's kind of a crap-shoot when you go into a thrift store looking for fabric, but that is the fun of it! We are all essentially hunter/gatherers, and this lets us hunt and gather...

I could NOT pass up those embroidered squares. As I picked them up looking at them, I thought of all the hours someone put into making them. I knew I would appreciate all that work!!
There was a lot of other fabric I would have liked to have bought, but since I figured I had enough for today.

Congratulations on your great deal and sharing it with us. Now that we have a taste of what is to come, please share the finished product. And making your mom's quilt is such a blessing to hear. I know she will adore it.
