I went to Jacksonville today which is about a 45 minute drive and look what followed me home! The fabric was 50% off. I am going to make table runners for my coworkers, stepdaughters and my mom & sister. Oh! and one for myself too! I am going to try and save a little time and instead of binding the edges I am going to serge them. Has anyone done this? I finally found some InsulBrite at their Wal-mart --it has fabric ours doesn't. I was soo excited. Wish me luck I hope to get all of them done.

Oh! and I think while I was in Hancock Fabric, I think I saw MimiSharon from this board! I know she's from Jacksonville so it wouldn't surprise me. I think her daughter was with her so I really hated to walk up to a perfect stranger and say... Hey are you MimiSharon from the Quiltingboard. Hind sight says I should have but I didn't I think I will send her a PM and ask. Safer that way...

    Soon to be Christmas tablerunners

Wow! I live in J'ville. Which Walmart did you go to because I have been watching at the older one and they haven't had it. Sorry I was asking about the insul brite. There must have been something going on here this weekend. We had company so didn't get out too much but hubby and i went to Sears and bought a 60 inch tv to go in my largest sewing room this evening. The price was on sale and then they gave us 10 % off that! The mall was packed! Very unusual :)

I didn't leave J'ville til just before 6:00 and it did seem very busy but then again New Bern kinda rolls the sidewalks up on Sunday evenings.

It was a funny thing with the InsulBrite. It was the old Wal-mart. The saleslady said I lucked out with it. She said some lady was in there yesterday looking for it and she knew it was there but the customer couldn't find it, she tried helping her but couldn't find it. It wasn't til after she left that she found it tucked away on the bottom shelf. Lucky me! Hope that customer wasn't you yesterday.

Hancock had something other than InsulBrite but I've never used either and so many people talk about InsulBrite I wanted to stick with that. I figured I'd just order it if Walmart didn't have it. Still have to order some because Walmart only had 6 yards. I'm thinking I'll need a couple more.

Does the newer Walmart in J'ville have fabric too?? I thought only the older one had fabric. You will have to let me know where the good places for quilting stuff are in Jacksonville. The only places I've been are Wal-mart, Hancock and All About Quilting--I love that place. I want my ashes scatter there whenever I die. haha

It was ME! lol I was there yesterday again looking for it! Well I'm glad you found it. I actually asked at Hancock's too and they told me they didn't carry it a couple weeks ago! Maybe it's just me- oh well. I've never been to the new Walmart since I live in Country Club and this one is so close. Actually we have 3 quilt stores. The Cotton Patch is by far the largest and Sharon has it set up nice. Kirsta at All About Quilting is by far the most helpful lqs. Francis at the Country Collection Quilt shop out on hwy 17 towards wlm is nice too and has the best prices. I use to work there a couple years ago until I inherited the contents of my mil's quilt shop in New Orleans!

Cyn! That is way too funny! I pm'd MimiSharon and that was her that I way in Hancock today too. And just to clarify Hancock didn't have any InsulBrite they had something called thermasomething. I mentioned InsulBrite and they looked at me like I had 5 heads but their carry it online I figured the store carried it too. What do I know.

    Enjoy that new TV!

Thanks, Sherry! That is too funny. So that insulbrite stuff comes on a bolt or in a package? I've never seen it but was thinking of covering a big board with it for ironing and I also want to make some of those cute hotpads I've seen here.
