Default My Two (Very Small!) Finishes for Today!

I planned on working on a much bigger project today, which didn't happen , but at least I finished these two small ones!

The first item came from a panel that I bought at my LQS with all sorts of fall designs on it; when I looked at this one, it just said "mug rug" to me, so that's what it became. It's about 8" x 11", perfect mug rug size. It also allowed me to practice some of my not-so-fabulous free-motion quilting, which was done with variegated thread.

At the same shop, I bought this little pattern to make jar openers. The concept is that you use squares from pre-printed panels, and layer the squares with batting, backing and some shelf-gripper stuff on the back. This one is a little bit large but it's my prototype; I hope to make some of these for holiday gifts.

Love this so cute! I use the shelf grip/non-skid shelving for different things around the house. For those who have arthritic hands, you can use a large piece and fold it a couple times and it will grip the smallest lid quite easily.

Very nice idea. I love your two finishes, especially the child and dog on the beach.
