An interesting side note on the URR quilts. We live along the Juaniata River which dumps into the Susquehanna River and it was part of the route North. Several years ago, a family was renovating their barn and found a false ceiling. When boards were removed, they found a large piece of an URR quilt as well as a journal listing the names of all of the runners (good word???) who found refuge there. Do not know this number. However, these two items were donated to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.

That is cool, and more proof for the quilts that the nay sayers say didn't exist.
