Default My version of Connected Stars from MSQ

I want to thank Tallchick for posting her beautiful quilt and adding the pattern information. I had never made half square rectangles (or rectrangles as Pam Bono named them many years ago), in fact, I was quite intimidated by them! But I found a couple of good tutorials on the subject and gave them a try. Not so bad after all! And the MSQ YouTube of the pattern block is really helpful.

I decided to go the scrappy route and am very happy with the result. Just one problem--I haven't seemed to make a dent in all those scraps!! Thanks for looking.

Yay, I really love yours! I wish I had done mine in a single background color, yours really pops! How big did yours turn out?

It will fit a queen. 90x90. And I ended up downsizing. The RST's are 2"x4" finished and the HST's 2" square finished.

Nice! I have several different types of half rectangle rulers. Did you use a special one or a plain ruler?

Oops, meant to add that my sizes made each block finish at 6 inches and made each 'star' finish at 12 inches. I also modified the blocks around the edges so that there were no unfinished stars. I thought that made things look a little less chaotic.

Onebyone, I did not use a special ruler but outline taped the necessary area on my regular ruler.

This is really nice and I love the completed stars on the outer edges too! I must have missed tall chicks and her info. Will have to look back.

Love the finished quilt. All of your scraps play so nicely with each other! Great job.

It seems our scraps procreate during the night when you're sleeping. They never seem to drindle as I've tried time and time again.

    Love your scrappy version.
