I used a pale yellow tracing paper I found through Connecting Threads. I also found it at one of the local quilt shops. Its very easy to use, and easy to tear away afterward.

Neither from class or a book... Just traced the pattern onto the tracing paper, held my breath and gave it a go. :)

Wow!! That is fantastic for a first--and a 50th and a 100th--but extra special for your FIRST!! :D Congrats!!! I look forward to seeing more of your quilting.

I'm just starting it too... but am happy to stipple--I don't have the piece of brain it takes to do what you're doing. I'm impressed!!

Wicked! (and you know what I mean!)

Beautiful job!! I like the idea of using the tracing paper! Which store carries it? I could really use that on the quilt I am doing for Michael's wedding!

(The spell check in this forum underlines the name Michael. It likes the name Micheal! But if you google Micheal ALL the results come up as Michael!)

yes I know exactly what you mean missus!! :P I bought the tracing paper through www.connectingthreads.com but one day while walking home from work, I went into Singer Sewing World there on Hamlyn Road... the plaza next to the Village Shopping Centre, and Ed had it there for about the same price.

I also found a great continuous line quilting patterns on the book rack and gave it to Mum for Christmas as she is a quilter too. Funny thing is I used one of the designs from that pattern package for this quilt!

Wow... Ed at the same price as somewhere else? That's a treat!

Are you getting your embroidery machine there? IF (and that's a BIG if) I go back teaching as a substitute I am going to save my pay and get an embroidery machine. Not sure if it will be Janome tho! That's my current machine and I think I could have done better.
