Nicely pieced. I'm impressed that you started on curved pieces right away. I've never done a block with curves, I stick to straight lines. I guess you're no novice to sewing.

Yeah, a number of people told me I was nuts for my first quilt to be all curves, but I've been sewing since I was six or so and didn't really have problems with it. OTOH, my one previous try at quilting involved an "easy" strip-pieced quilt, that nearly drove me to tears several times before I gave up on it. It's been almost 20 years between that one and this one.

(Can you tell I'm thrilled? :D ) Now I just need to find some batting, figure out what I'm going to back it with, and learn how to bind it.

This will be for the top of my treadle, so I can put other things on it without dinging up the oak. My goal, now that I understand what I'm doing, is to eventually make a quilt for our bed.
It was really nice to see this pattern again my grand mother used to make them she has been gone since 1977 when I was just 14.Some days when I sew I think of her a lot.She was an awesome woman and mother grandmother an wife.I will see her in heaven some day. Love you Grandma Gillum.
