My wedding quilt
#1
Just wanted to share some pictures of the quilt I made as a wedding present for my husband. It was the first quilt I'd ever made, and I didn't make it easy for myself!! It's a sampler, using the same 3 fabrics for each of the blocks. I hand-pieced the blocks using templates, then put it all together with the sashing and borders by machine. I sent it away to get professionally machine-quilted, partly because time was short and partly because I knew I'd get a much better result that way!
My husband loves it, and it's been on our bed ever since we returned from our honeymoon in December. :-D The backing is flannel, so it's very warm and snuggly.
I'm now teaching my step-daughter to do hand-pieced quilting, helping her to make a cot quilt for her Mum's new baby, which is due in November.
