Gorgeous! Especially the crazy quilt. The French call it 'pele mele'. I got a book on crazy quilting for Xmas and have made 2 blocks but I'm going to do a day workshop in silk ribbon embroidery in March so I've put it away til after that; it makes a real change from following a set design - frees the spirit!

K we have recently had a class on silk ribbon embroidery it is lovely to do and quick!! I will have to take a picture of what I made to show you :D

Linda, I like the idea of q.a.y.g. I saw one demo where you cut your backing bigger that your batting and top piece, then stitch them together so the batting comes up to the front, which you fold down and top sew, you have to choose a fabric that will coordinate with the top, but it looks so easy, might have to try that soon :D

Both are beautiful, but since my favorite color is blue I am drawn to the blue one.

The crazy quilt is wonderful! Did you do a lot of fancy stitching on it in old fashioned crazy quilt fashion?

I love your Hawaiian quilting. I really admire it--but will NEVER attempt it. You did a great job!

marcia, I did alot of lace and machine embroidery stitches, none by hand. I was looking for a project to use some of the stitches on my machine. Used quite a few of them. One girl told me I had to have a spider so I machine embroidered one. ha. Not too much of a hand project.
