K we have recently had a class on silk ribbon embroidery it is lovely to do and quick!! I will have to take a picture of what I made to show you :D

Linda, I like the idea of q.a.y.g. I saw one demo where you cut your backing bigger that your batting and top piece, then stitch them together so the batting comes up to the front, which you fold down and top sew, you have to choose a fabric that will coordinate with the top, but it looks so easy, might have to try that soon :D

i think what you mean is the fun'n'done one. there's a tutorial video for it on www.baysidequilting.com. of course, they're trying to sell a template, but i don't think that's needed once you get the idea. let me know if that's the one.
(they just changed their format, so you may have to keep trying to get in. if you have trouble, i'll try to post the instructions. will that work?)

Linda--I am not a big "hand project" kind of person so the fact that you did this on the sewing machine impresses me even more!!! I really do like it a lot. You have inspired me to use scraps another way.

LindaR you inspired me with your crazy quilt. I need to use up some scraps so I drew out a pattern in my EQ software and I'm going to try a quilt as you go one.

Thanks for posting a pic of yours to inspire some of us!
