OMG! That is a beautiful quilt. When I was working, some of the people knew I quilted and asked me Not to ever give them any quilted gifts because it reminded them or made them think of being poor. How sad their thinking. It just reminds me sometimes that when people were poor and made a quilt they still knew how to take rags and turn them into beautiful riches to be treasured. Obviously, so many people don't relate to it that way, and it was nice that lady didn't, because now your rich, beautiful quilt has a great home at the price paid for as if you were poor. If she only knew how much richer she has made you now. (By the way, I was glad my work associates told me not to give them quilted gifts...they would have been wasted, so I appreciated their honesty even if I didn't agree with their thinking.)

Beautiful quilt, so glad that you were able to 'rescue' it from an unappreciative woman. So sad that her MIL put lots of love, energy, time and handwork into it and it wasn't loved, as it should be. And to put so little value on it ... shame shame.

It has a wonderful home now to be enjoyed and loved.

Maybe the lady just didn't like her MIL. The quilt is beautiful. Lots of time, care and love went into making that quilt.
