    Default Mystery mini quilt

The LQS had a 6 month sew along. The patterns were Barn Block Mini from This and That. Our challenge was to choose 2 colors and I chose black and white. We are permitted to use an accent color of our choice for each block. I thought with black and white, I could use a variety of colors. I found the black and white stripe fabric at the LQS and wondered how I could use it. I really like the sashing. It was bold but it looks good. This quilt is not quilted yet and I am not sure if I will hand quilt or machine quilt it.

Wonderful quilt top. Love the pops of color you added.

Beautiful. I love the colors, just enough of each to make each stand out. What is the size of the quilt please?

I added a strip of white around each block to make them 15 inches. The sashing is 3 inches wide...I couldn't handle the strip any wider, It made me dizzy looking at it. The quilt measures 68 wide by 86 long.

Love the way you sashed those blocks and used different colors to accent the black and white. Well done!

Looks awesome. I like the idea of picking your own colors for parts of the quilt.

I love this quilt!! It is priceless. But then I am fond of black/white and bright quilts. This is perfect.

I was wondering about this. I have noticed the same thing when working with large quantities of narrow-striped fabric. Good for you for figuring out a solution that both worked for you and looks so stunning in this quilt. :-)
