Love your quilt --especially like the pieced border. Really sets it off perfectly.

Oh, that is so very lovely. Your border is perfect and really does bring it all together. What a special quilt to remember your Grandmother by.

Awesome. Love the blue and brown fabric. Can you tell me the designer or where you got the fabric? I also would love to know the name of the pattern. Your eye for color combinations is perfect. Also as everyone said the border is great. OK. I just love everything about this quilt. Good luck to your Grandmother. BrendaK

Hi Tartan, I don't know how to machine quilt (yet), so definitely by hand. ;-)

Does it have a name besides Nancy's Fancy???
    Pat
Hi Patsy, it's possible that it has another name. It was (first?) published in the May/June 2007 issue of Fons and Porter. Here's a link to the issue/article: http://www.fonsandporter.com/articles/nancy_s_fancy

Hi Brenda, hmm...well the fabric is from all over the place. Two are from my grandmother's stash. And the rest are from Germany (where I live now) and also from some quilt shops in the US from when I visited. The main focal fabric however (the paisley-like one) is "Serenade" from Kate Spain...there are a couple of different (all equally beautiful) colorways of that fabric. The block is called Nancy's Fancy and it was apparently first published in the May/June 2007 issue of Fons and Porter (see link above). Hope this helps!

@Everyone: Thanks for all of your lovely comments about my quilt. You've really made me smile. :-)

Beautifully done and your border is perfect with it. How fortunate you are to have memories of those good times with your grandmother.
