    I agree, completely. It looked nicely framed with the black print binding.

    I know it sounds a little out there, but what about white? It's in the background and could soften up the edge a bit.

    This is the same block used in Amer. Patchwork & Quilting magazine (Oct 2010) called Granny Squares. They set it diagonally with brown blocked sashing to give it the look of a crocheted afghan. Very pretty.
