    Default Narwhal block

My son’s friend likes narwhals and they met while playing a dinosaur 🦕 game online. the friend is from WI, we’re in in IN and he came down a couple years ago for a mutual gaming friends wedding. It was nice to meet him after hearing for years that my son was online playing with “Waffles”. That’s what the guys call him. I haven’t asked why. The quilt I am making him is a group of narwhals and yes there is this dinosaur narwhal block and will be a waffle narwhal block as well. I couldn’t pass up tieing all these little things together. There will also be one watermelon narwhal block which I was told not to even ask about but it’s in there. The rest of the narwhal will be in a narwhal fabric I found online. I designed this block for him. When I get the quilt finished we plan to make a first time trip to WI not only to give him his quilt in person but to also visit something up there that we have never seen before. Looking forward to both.

I’ll post the entire quilt when it’s finished but wanted to share the block for now. I was excited that it came out well.

    thanks for looking.

Your block turned out great! How clever of you. It’s paper-pieced, I assume. I can’t wait to see the finished quilt.

I have a wonderful friend in Hawaii that I met playing games on-line. I live in Minnesota. We meet once when she came to town for a convention, and it felt like we’d known each other forever. We keep in touch by phone now, although we are still gaming.

I don't know anything about gaming, however my favorite quilts are those with the recipient in mind. You have obviously put a lot of thought into this quilt pattern and I can't wait to see the reaction of the recipient. Only a quilter could pull off the collection of individual "stories" into a cohesive and usable item. Please show the entire quilt when it is finished!

Gamers and narwhales, what next! I have a grandson that is a gamer and he and his buds all have weird but personally created game names. Clever block and I join the group that is anxious to see the finish. Sew on!
