Default Narwhal Block turned quilt top

I am have finished the top ... for the most part. Still deciding if I want to leave it where it is at 72" or add some border to make it fit a queen. I have my son putting the feelers out to the friends (the recipient) girlfriend to find out which route I should go, so until that information comes back this is where I am.

I used 3/8" seam allowance for the paper piecing with 1/2" seams on the individual blocks and let me tell you it made lining up the seams soooooooo much easier - it actually has made for some better handling and some flatter seams especially in the narwhal horns where there are 20 points coming together. The 12 points in the stars lay nicely as well with the 1/2" seam allowance.

We should be making a trip north in a couple weeks to deliver. I'm excited - now I just have to figure out where we're going to stay and what we're going to do during our visit.

I am very pleased with the outcome. I hope you like it too.
